tested. principled. Ready to work.
We are at a precarious moment in our country. Our freedoms, civil rights, health care, and the benefits seniors, families, and veterans rely on are at risk. We are at war with Iran and contributing taxpayer money to continue a genocide in Gaza. Families are drowning in rising costs while powerful interests keep cashing in, and too many politicians treat public service like a performance instead of a responsibility. This is not normal, and it cannot continue. This moment demands leadership that is tested, principled, and ready to work.
I’ve spent 23 years in public service across 7 federal agencies taking on corporate health care giants, enforcing civil rights, and helping carry out programs people depend on. I’m not guessing at how government works. I know how it works, and I’m ready to represent this district on day one.
why i’m running
My parents were farmers who lost their land to corporate agriculture. They came to Cleveland to work in factories and build a better life. I joined them. We worked hard, did everything this country tells people to do, and still lost everything, including our home.
I do not need a briefing on what families in this district are going through right now. I have lived it. I know how scary it is when having a roof over your head is out of reach, how much someone worries when health care is unaffordable and prices rise faster than paychecks. Too many families are working every day, making all the right choices, and still can’t get ahead.
That is why I am running for Congress. Ohio’s 7th District does not need another career politician making empty promises while taking checks from corporate donors. It needs someone who knows exactly what is at stake for everyday people, has spent a career fighting for ordinary families, and will answer to voters, not wealthy interests.
This is not a normal moment, and it does not call for politics as usual. It demands leadership with backbone. Leadership rooted in the dignity of all people. Leadership that understands government should protect families, not corporations, and serve the people, not the donor class.
what i’ll fight for for
lower costs
Take on corporate price gouging by breaking up monopolies, fight for a living wage, make housing more affordable through federal investments, ban Wall Street from buying up single-family homes in bulk, establish universal free child care, and deliver the economic relief people need to live with dignity and raise their families.
health care as a human right
Health care should be a right, not a privilege tied to wealth, age, or employment. I support Medicare for All, lowering the age of Medicare eligibility, expanding Medicaid, and capping prescription drug prices so every person can get the care they need without fear of debt, denial, or financial ruin.
end government corruption and restore democracy
I will fight to get corporate money out of politics through legislation, push to overturn Citizens United, protect our democracy, and hold leaders who abuse power accountable to the people they are supposed to serve. Government should answer to the public, not wealthy donors, special interests, or political insiders. I will work to establish and enforce stronger ethics rules and oversight, transparency, and consequences for corruption, self-dealing, and abuses of power. No elected official is above the law.
why laura?
23 years of public service.
I have spent my career helping run the programs people depend on every day. I am not guessing how government or policy work. I know how these systems operate, where they break down, and what it takes to make them deliver for ordinary people.
tested in real fights.
I have taken on powerful corporate health care interests and fought for families who needed someone in their corner. I know how to stand firm, do the work, and keep pushing when the stakes are high.
Not for sale.
I do not take corporate PAC money of any kind. Your representative should answer to you, not to corporations looking to buy influence.
Forums, podcasts, long form interviews
You deserve to know what a candidate will fight for before you cast your vote. These forums and interviews are where I lay it out. Medicare for All. Farmland. Affordability. A Living Wage. Corporate money in politics. The Constitution. Unscripted and direct.
